Magic islands are pretty strange, as far as Ty's concerned, but the one good thing they have going for them is the large expanse of room to run. It's not downtown Auckland, but there's a beach or a dozen he can run past and he found out the hard way that apparently there are dinosaurs living in one corner of the island. This is definitely weird shit the likes of which he's never seen before and considering the crap he's lived through, that's saying something.
Apart from the weirdness of the location, Ty's still focusing on being mortal. He wakes up and he's warm. He has breakfast and he can taste everything and he doesn't need to be sucked into a hopeless relationship in Hel for it. It's everything he's wanted and he doesn't know how he did it.
If it's good, does that mean it's bad filters back to him and he shakes his head of the thought, pushing himself faster on his run to try and get the memory out of his head. If this is seriously some side-effect of something happening to Odin, then Ty absolutely doesn't want to know about it. Better to think this is actually some cracked version of his life than the notion that the whole family died and he's here...alone.
"Shit!" Ty blurts out, skidding to a stop when he nearly runs into a large man, so caught up in his thoughts. He stumbles and takes an extra moment to right himself, taking the time to breath and catch himself before he continues on. "Sorry. Sorry about that," he says, eyeing the man's incredibly large biceps with some trepidation.

"But I see no reason to hide your identity in this place. All here know me as Thor, Son of Odin. Whether they believe me is for them to decide."

"As you wish, Ty Johnson," he says. "But know that there are rules here to protect us all, regardless of one's past. Should you wish to share with someone else, there is no one here to persecute you. Rest assured, however, that no mortal will hear of your true nature from I."

"And you are wise to recognize it," he says, gravely but for the slight twinkle in his eye. "Take care, Son of John."
